A Photowalk around Sunnyvale, California / by Nathan Jones

SUNNYVALE

I took these photographs between noon and 3 pm on July 1st, 2017, in Sunnyvale, California. I used a Rollei 35 LED camera, which I bought for $60 in a pawn shop in Toronto. It has a fixed, scale-focussed 40 mm f/3.5 lens. I shot two rolls of my preferred black-and-white film, Kodak Tri-X 400, which I developed at home in Kodak D76. The light meter in the camera is broken, so I used the "Sunny 16 Rule" to estimate exposure. I exposed the majority of the photographs at f/16 and 1/500 s, with the lens set to infinity, and was very pleased with the results. The Rollei 35 is an eminently capable, simple, tiny camera that is a joy to use.
